iPads in my classroom will be used to increase rigor and engagement. I currently have laptops as a station where my students can listen to story books or work on word skills. These laptops rarely work, and are frustrating for my students. iPads will be used not only for my students to listen to books and work on word skills, but also for creation and research. Our current research project around careers has been a challenge with only books and one computer to share. I want to show my students all the possibilities of finding information and how to use it to create amazing projects. I want my students to be able to record videos and listen to themselves read. I want them to scan QR's and use maps to see the world. I want my students to have the opportunities that most of us see as "typical". For them using these tools is rare or impossible. I want to make it all possible for them.
