As part of our Social Studies curriculum, every spring a student selects a person from history to research and create a poster about his/her life. The students are encouraged to read a biography with a family member at home as well as access appropriate websites. In the past, students have selected former U.S. Presidents, an inventor, a famous woman, an Olympic athlete, a scientist, or civil rights leader. Many select a famous African-American as their person to research. The more biographies that are available for the students to select from, the better!
