My students come from diverse backgrounds with a gamut of experiences that shape their outlook and interest in varying facets of education. The basic principles of old school research have not changed much, but the tools and techniques have. Students must supplement textual and graphic analysis with digital interfaces that challenge them to experience the material in ways that keep them engaged and technologically current. Creating an environment in which they are active participants in their own learning process gives them a sense of pride and productivity as they build skills relevant to present trends.
