My classroom is full of 6 and 7 year old first graders who are enthusiastic and excited to learn. Throughout the school year, my first graders show tremendous growth. The students learn to read, write, problem solve, and socialize, among many other things. At Oakdale Elementary School, we work very hard to create a sense of community for the students. We have high expectations and we work extremely hard to meet the needs of all of our students. The use of technology is highly encouraged at our school, but we only have 25 iPads that are shared between all 350 students in the school. My classroom is full of students with varying ability levels. Each day, I plan and deliver differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all of the students in my class. I work hard to stimulate and engage all of my higher level students, while scaffolding the curriculum to support my lower level learners. I design lessons based on my students' learning styles to ensure student success.
