Calming Area
Funded Apr 24, 2023My students are CRAZY for the fun new items to support our Calming Area. They can squish stars with inspiring messages as they write, use colored sound chips to help them segment their words, and have a cozy park-like area to sit with new grass mats and tree stump stools. They are so excited to be a part of the class that learning has been a breeze and when students get frustrated - they have an actual area to compose themselves. This has been one of the BEST Donor's Choose projects ever! Just making my students excited to see what is new in the classroom every day has made an impact on their daily social-emotional wellness. THANK YOU>”

The Reading Arts Cafe
Funded Oct 7, 2022What a wonderful addition to our classroom. These resources have helped the students grow in their reading decoding and Fluency, writing and just their overall engagement in learning! Thank you! There is nothing more special than seeing students love coming to school and learning. This is all because we are able to make the learning fun with materials we would otherwise not be able to afford. Thank you again for your contribution to our inner city school. It means a lot to all of us here, especially our littlest leaders here at the primary center.”

Magic? No - It's Just Water
Funded Sep 6, 2022The student absolutely love the water paper and water markers. It has made learning so much more fun! The students can write their letter and sounds on the "magic" paper and watch it slowly disappear right before their eyes! It has been wonderful seeing students who have more difficulty getting engaged in the lesson, just come to life when I pull out the water paper and water markers. Something as simple as changing from using exact paper and pencil - but doing the EXACT same lesson - instead, using the magic water paper, has made an amazing impact on my students. Thank you again for putting magic into our learning!”

Back To Basics - Listening Libraries Help Us Read!
Funded Jan 7, 2011So simple, so fun, so thank you for your contribution. The new Listening Center in my room has made learning phonics and word families fun. In a school in south LA, teaching a class that is majorly second language learners, hands on activities are what is most meaningful to these students.
Students are able to visit the new Listening Center within a literacy rotation. We have 5 stations and the Listening Center is the classroom favorite. Students can sit together and learn word families and phonics. They are much more engaged with the follow-up lessons as well. I use the Listening Center everyday and students are really learning a lot. It is the perfect supplement to my teaching. Thank you again! ”
