I envision students walking in the gymnasium to a positive and colorful environment. The youth will see posters all along the gymnasium with words of wisdom and encouragement that will stay with them during their day. My hope is that over time some messages on these posters will stay with students over a lifetime. The posters also offer a chance for students to discuss what they see on the walls and what it means to them. It will lead to discussions on making the the correct choices, in games, school and in life. I also hope that seeing the room more vibrant will encourage students to keep the space nice. It could also teach them to respect items posted around the building instead of defacing or tearing them down. I finally feel that students will see the improved space as a sign that someone cares that they are motivated and learning. The words of wisdom on the posters are a constant reminder of positive decision making without being overbearing. The posters could go a long way over time, to influence young impressionable minds. It could lead to patience and better emotional responses. Students will begin to become improved decision makers in other settings outside of school and in their lives.
