What’s ideal when it comes to collaboration in our classrooms? Here’s one coveted scenario: several children gathered at a table engaged in a high-level task, discussing, possibly debating an issue, making shared decisions, and designing a product that demonstrates all this deeper learning. Collaboration is a 21st Century skill that our students need to be able to do. This is a skill that needs daily practice. The classroom environment also plays a role in how students collaborate. Adding tables to the classroom allows students to sit in close proximity to each other promoting small group work and table discussions. By donating to our project you will be increasing student collaboration, promoting deeper learning and ultimately helping to increase academic achievement. By adding tables to the classroom it will automatically be set up to promote student discussions and foster a collaborative classroom environment. My students will love learning, creating and collaborating together.
