As students explore and investigate these materials in our maker space center, they will be learning not only important scientific principles and technological skills, but they will also be listening, speaking, sharing, creating, and solving problems independently. Watching a 3 or 4 year old solve a problem independently is so exciting! Students will use these materials to develop a variety of important STEM skills. They will bring their ideas to life as they use the legos and baseplates to become architects of their imaginagions. They will learn how to wire circuits to make lights and motors go with the circuit accessory packs. Problem solving will be taught as they use the balls and ramps set to observe how objects move. These materials will support students in learning how to create, solve problems, tinker, and make! By exploring and using these materials, the students will develop their problem solving, speaking, listening, comprehension, planning, initiative, creative, and observational skills. Developing these skills in our young learners will help them to become critical thinkers and problem solvers.
