Welcome to my world as a Special Education teacher at La Follette High School in Madison, WI. Most of my students participate in general education classrooms and curriculum, and it's my job to bridge any gap there might be between their special needs and the general education standards for success. Sometimes this is as simple as reading aloud; other times it means developing or finding additional materials for students who need more scaffolding to understand the target concept. I think I have one of the best jobs in the world and love to go to work every day. In addition to the challenge of having an identified educational disability, my students face the same needs as many students in urban schools today. Sometimes they are underfed; sometimes they feel hopeless. I plan to develop projects to meet as many of their needs as I can, and thank you for considering my projects!
