Graphing Lines One Point at a Time!
Funded Jan 10, 2019Thank you so much for the great resources you have given my classes! We have been using old whiteboards that are cracked and stained for years, now the students have nice new white ones to use! The boards erase easily and have a great coordinate grid on the back for graphing lines and points. The magnetic coordinate grids have been especially useful and have made a big impact on my students' learning of graphing.
When I told my students that I had applied for a grant they were really excited! It was even more exciting when the items came. It was like Christmas! They absolutely love the magnetic erasers and they use the whiteboards almost daily to work their problems on. They were also amazed that there were people out there that cared about their education.
Thank you for caring enough to donate to such a worthy cause. As a teacher, I am humbled by your generosity and willingness to help my students receive the education they deserve.”

Funded Sep 24, 2018Thank you for the generous donation you made to my project! When we received the megaphone the students were so excited they all wanted to try it out! We have already used the megaphone several times in our school for various activities. Yesterday we took pictures of the 7th, 8th and 9th-grade classes. As you can imagine, there were a lot of kids in the pictures and it was difficult for them to hear what we needed them to do. The megaphone made it so much easier to give directions to them which helped the process go much more smoothly! I can't wait to use it when we are enjoying learning activities outside the classroom.
The gift you have given us will be something we use for years to come. Thank you for your generosity and for your commitment to my students and their education.”

Funded Nov 14, 2016Thank you so much for donating to my project. When I saw these resources I knew immediately they would benefit my students. One of the concepts I teach is solving systems of equations. This is a very difficult concept for most students to grasp, especially students that struggle in math. I knew that having hands-on manipulatives would help those students that have a hard time grasping abstract subjects.
When we received the resources the students were very excited to have a new tool to learn with. We started by plotting points on the graphs, then moved on to graphing lines. They have mastered this concept extremely well and have no problem graphing lines now. They are now ready to graph on paper coordinate grids.
I am a firm believer that having something tangible to learn math with will help them learn concepts so much more quickly. These supplies have been a great addition to how I teach solving systems of equations. Thank you again for providing this great resource!”

Inspired By Art
Funded Nov 11, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donations to our project. I feel that art helps inspire students to want to learn and to broaden their horizons. We have been studying Utah History and have already made clay pots and sand paintings with some of the art supplies you supplied us with. The students absolutely loved making these projects and it has helped them to be more excited about learning. Also, brain research shows that students learn in different ways. By incorporating art into the curriculum my students are getting the chance to increase their knowledge in ways that are different from the traditional ways of learning. Thank you for making a difference in my students' lives!”

Funded Feb 13, 2013This is just a small token of my appreciation for your generous donation to my project. The field trip you funded was such a wonderful experience for my students. The presentations and exhibits were exciting and packed with great learning experiences for my students. The students enjoyed learning about the moon, astronomy and the seasons in the dome theater and exhibit halls. They were all excited about science after this trip!
Because of the budget shortfalls in public education a trip like this would not be possible without your help. Thank you for providing this valuable experience for my students.”

Funded Nov 23, 2012Thank you so much for the wonderful resources you have provided for my students. The math games you have given us have brought so much joy and excitement for the students, they don't even know they are learning!
The math games we were able to purchase with your donation are games that review many of the concepts and skills the students are learning this year. So many times a concept is learned and then forgotten because it isn't being reviewed. With these games those concepts are being reviewed on a regular basis.
We truly appreciate your generosity and dedication to education.”

Reading is Fun!
Funded Mar 2, 2012I want to thank you for your wonderful donations to my project. We received the books in the mail last week and the students have been in a reading frenzy ever since!
Reading for fun is such a great way to improve reading comprehension and fluency. I have noticed significant improvements in my students' scores as I have given them time in class to read books they want to read. I have had several students who said they would never read a book for fun find that they love reading when they get to choose what they want to read.
Thank you for providing these great books for my students. I appreciate the concern and dedication you have for my students' education.”

Funded Jan 30, 2012Thank you so much for your donations to our project. I am so impressed that there are people that care enough about our children to want to help us educate them. The materials we requested are already making a difference in the students in my class. We are having weekly lessons on bullying and having discussions about the reality of bullying and what can be done to stop it.
My students are all very aware that bullying exists and want to do something about it. These materials will help them know what to do and how to solve problems that arise. Thank you for helping make this happen. ”

Funded Dec 5, 2011Thank you so much for the wonderful math games! My students are having so much fun with them and they are already helping their understanding of math concepts. Math can sometimes be boring and tedious. These games have helped them to see that math concepts can be fun and challenging. There are many math skills that need to be practiced to achieve mastery. Some of these games provide that practice without the boring repetition that are found in math worksheets. You have provided a great way to help them practice difficult math concepts.
My students and I are so grateful for your contribution and dedication to education.”

Funded Nov 2, 2011This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my project. Since the calculators have been purchased we have used them almost everyday. The students have used them to check their homework, find percentages, and play fun calculator games. We will be using them even more in the future with more difficult math concepts that will be taught.
Our school has very limited resources, so without your help we would not have these valuable tools in our classroom. These calculators will provide my students with the tools they need to have a successful and fun math experience. Thank you again for your support!”

Mrs. P.
