Bring on the Books!
Funded Sep 11, 2023It is with much gratitude that I write this thank you to all donors who contributed to this project! Our classroom has been filled with excitement and enthusiasm about reading since we received these wonderful new books.
In third grade, most students are making the transition from learning how to read, to independent readers who are developing their comprehension skills. Many of them are still learning what type of books they enjoy: fantasy, historical fiction, comedy, informational text (usually about animals and insects), or graphic novels, just to name a few. These new titles have given my students options, and the opportunity to explore different genres without leaving the classroom.
Students who once avoided reading are now curling up with a book in a cozy corner of the classroom every opportunity they get. So again I say thank you! Your generosity has helped me to open the door to the joy of reading and how exciting it can be to "get lost in a good book".”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Green

Funded Jun 8, 2020Our class is so grateful for the learning kits they are able to use thanks to your generosity! They were so excited when they came to school to pick them up on the first day, and had a blast the next day with our "learning kit scavenger hunt" during our first Zoom meeting.
My students have been able to participate in hands-on activities that incorporate cutting, gluing, and coloring. These activities enhance student engagement and learning, as well as aid in the development of crucial fine motor skills.
They are able to stay organized and have everything they need within reach just as they would if they were at school. They are learning responsibility and organizational skills by taking care of their classroom "tools", which in turn helps our daily Zoom meetings and lessons run more efficiently.
We hope to return safely to the classroom soon, but until then we can continue learning in a fun and engaging way!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Green
Art and Creation Enhance Education!
Funded Aug 26, 2016Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom. When my students saw their new supplies for the very first time the all clapped and cheered. They could not WAIT to get a chance to use the new art supplies.
We use the new markers, twistable colored pencils, glitter pens, smelly markers, twistable crayons, and people colors pencils and markers, daily in our classroom during our center activities, as well as for special art projects. Most recently we made books about the first Thanksgiving. The students were able to draw pictures using natural colors for the Pilgrims and Native Americans to make their drawings more realistic.
My students are more enthusiastic about their assignments now, and their creativity is really beginning to develop. They also feel a sense of pride for their accomplishments. These supplies have made learning more fun and student engagement has definitely increased. We are all so grateful for your generosity!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Green
