Ease On Down to the Easel!
Funded Jan 31, 2014It is with deep appreciation and gratitude that I write this letter to you all. Our double sided whiteboard easel is a huge asset to our classroom. I mention, at least once a day, how much it has helped in various aspects of our busy day!
One side is lined which means I can write a morning message to the class that shows clear spacing and letter formation. It also helps me write in a straight line. Often times, I have another lesson I want to share and I can have it prepared before the day starts because it can be on the unlined side. My students were able to have a magnetic vowel sorting center set up for days during literacy due to the two sides. The fun part is being able to wheel the easel around in a jiffy. I can even have the students move it if necessary. The sturdy shelf on the bottom holds all our supplies and then some. We have a bucket of clipboards, a bucket of small whiteboards and several small buckets on the shelf.
I am certain that this whiteboard will easily outlive my time in the classroom. It is sturdy, practical and so useful. I know many others who have seen and have decided to create their own donors choose project because of it.
Thank you so much for your generous donations!”

Criss Cross Applesauce: Do It Quick Or Time is Lost
Funded Jul 28, 2013I cannot thank you enough for your support! Our classroom rug has been a HUGE hit in first grade. The kids LOVE sitting on it. It has been a classroom meeting spot, a place to stretch out and read, as well as a beautiful educational addition to the classroom. The kiddos love finding a special letter to sit on (or I assign one). Just today a student noticed the number of spots on the ladybug matches the number that is beside it.
Students can very quickly find a spot on the carpet when we need to transition to a new subject or lesson. I can quickly say find a letter on the carpet to sit. The arguing and conflicts over where to sit has decreased substantially because all the spots are clearly marked. They know that it doesn't matter where they sit, just as long as they have a spot! The size is perfect too as I have 21 students that need to fit around its oval design. Visiting students and teachers have nothing but wonderful comments on our rug.
The day our rug arrived the superintendent happen to be visiting our school. He saw me carrying the rug down the hall all by myself (I was that excited to get it in and unrolled before my students came back from P.E.). He asked what I was doing, and I was able to very excitedly explain what a great opportunity Donors Choose is and how it positively impacted my class. I certainly didn't mind earning a few bonus points, thanks to you all, for going above and beyond to get something educational and practical for my classroom.
Again, MANY MANY thanks for your support!”
