Hands-On STEM Projects
Funded Jun 20, 2023My students are so excited to do the STEM projects. We will be studying motion and force next quarter so having the materials to do hands-on experimentation will be the ultimate learning.
The first time the students walked into the classroom and saw the projects and kits, they were amazed!! They all asked when they can begin to use them. I explained that it will be used later on.
The kids will be using the kits next quarter when we study motion and force. We will be building the airplanes, measuring different distances based on observations and different factors. The kids will also be building boats and cars!!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Arizona Department of Education.Kindergarten Hands-On
Funded Apr 28, 2016Right from the start of introducing the new materials in our classroom, the kids were thrilled. They did not want to do anything else. The students were so excited when they were able to build and design the STEM projects all by themselves. They were even more excited to re-create the fairy tale stories that went with them.
Even after using the items, I was worried initially that they would get bored and lose interested, however, the kiddos did not and kept wanting to use the materials again and again. You can bet these fairytales stories took on new meaning to the kiddos than ever before.
The dress up items were also a huge hit and the kiddos wanted to repeat their re-creations over and over again. What is so great is that next year's students will be able to enjoy the materials just as much!!”
