Our pre-k students attend school in a full-day program. They have a half-hour of quiet time that helps them regulate their emotions and self-control. During quiet time, I want to provide my students with a variety of art and manipulative materials that allow them to relax and make use of their talents. During this time, our students have the opportunity to participate in different activities according to their interests and needs. The benefits of the quiet time, using the funded materials, include: increasing their focus and attention, their mindfulness, building their confidence and independence, increasing their creativity, and developing self-regulation.
