My students are high achievers who tend to get overlooked. They are self-motivated, goal-setting students who realized early on in their young lives that education is vital to achieving their dreams. Although the vast majority of these students come from poverty and many are immigrants, they believe with hard work and determination that they can be and do anything they set their minds to. My students thrive in an atmosphere of academic challenges and are always curious and thirsty for more knowledge. They are inquisitive and hard-working and work well both independently and in a group setting. They have set goals to get accepted to the best high schools that DC has to offer. They desire to attend college and pursue careers that are productive and fulfilling and will provide a better life for them and their families.
