Computers to Captivate Kids
Funded Sep 30, 2024I wanted to personally thank you for the donation of our classroom laptops. This year because of budget issues the third grade was without the use of technology in the classroom. We are slowly on our way to getting a complete set of laptops for the grade to use. We are learning how to type, practice our math skills and open and close documents and create our own videos to show our knowledge on different topics.
By allowing us to have these laptops you have opened the eyes of my students to different programs to use and their skills and grow. My students have been creating quicktime videos and practicing typing with typing 101, and xtra math. Without these devices my students would not be able to explore the internet.
The most important piece to these devices in my ENL students who are able to go on to LEXIA English learning to practice their listen, speaking, reading and writing in English. Thank you again for opening the internet to my students, they are truly enjoying using the materials and exploring the outside world.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Diesman

Funded Jan 1, 2020Thank you for the gift of our wiggle seats. My students eyes lit up when they saw them. They were so excited to be able to rock and learn. Everyday they look forward to reading with me, and even borrowing the seats at their own desks. Some of my students have told me, using these seats relaxes them more so they are more apt to try more strategies and vowel combinations that they aren't completely sure of while reading. This excites me because they are willing to push themselves to want to read more because of these seats.
We are currently working on an ela project about frogs and because these students are happy to read, they are enjoying our little amphibians so much then I ever expected. Although the text for some is difficult, as the wiggle and rock while reading, they are working on finding facts and supporting details that support their answers to questions, which is a way we are practicing for the 3rd grade state assessment.
Thank you all again for your support and for caring about my students. As I see it they are the future and anything we can do to assist them in learning is key.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Diesman

Funded Feb 17, 2018Word's can not express the gratitude that my students and I have right now. By allowing my students personal space and the ability to move in their seats they are so excited to learn. We have only just begun to use and try out our materials but there is already a fresh breath of confidence in my students. You have all done a great deed by funding our classroom. We hope to do great things this year and in tube future. We have already taken turns and used manners that we haven't used in a long time. We are happy to come to school and learn...thank you for that!”

Trout in the Classroom
Funded Oct 15, 2017Thanks for all of your support. By aiding in this project you will be helping the third grade continue their growth and understanding of the water cycle and life cycles to enhance their life science curriculum. Words can not say enough, these children are the future scientists that could potentially change the world...your donation will not go unused, we can't wait to watch our trout develop. This year our trout are developing at a fast rate of speed. We are so excited that they recently came out of their egg shells and are now beginning to swim around. We can not wait to see them grow and change.”

Trout in the Classroom- Aerators for Release
Funded Apr 23, 2016First, thank you for your donations. These materials will allow us (students and staff to run the next generation of trout in the classroom). My students and myself were thrilled that we got funded so rapidly.
The chemicals and thermometers will allow students to graph fluctuations in temperatures in our tank. The aerators will allow us to safely travel to ward pound ridge next year, to hopefully lose less fish, due to toxins.
My students felt like it was Christmas getting new toys...they can not wait until next year to see the trout grow again. Thanks again for your support.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Diesman
