My classroom is home to 75 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade mathematicians. Most of my students were born and raised in our small community their entire lives, and haven't had much exposure to the world outside of the Verde Valley. My students absolutely love working outside in our school STEM and Agriculture land lab and in our school Robotic Engineering classroom. Anytime I can create opportunities of real life math application, my students learn best. "Hard working" is a characteristic often used to describe our middle school students. I would also describe my students as humble, appreciative, and eager for learning opportunities.
