6th Grade Science
Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for the generous donations you have made to support our classroom.
We have been able to use the items in Science projects and posters, anchor charts to support learning, pencils for everyday needs, notebooks to take notes. All the simplest supplies for students
As simple and basic as the requested items are, they are so desperately needed in the classroom. Our students are so extremely grateful for your donation and kindness, because of that, they have the supplies necessary to succeed this school year.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations to help our students receive hands on, student led activities to learn about weather, biomes, and ecology.
Being in the South Bronx, we are limited with what nature and ecology surround us, so allowing us to bring it into the classroom has shown to be extremely successful! Students are starting to understand more about the different biomes around the world and the organisms that live within them. We are just starting our weather unit and we are going to soon see the benefits of the Forecasting weather kit.
Your generosity and kindness has been an incredible addition to our classroom and our learning.”

Funded Jun 18, 2017Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donations! Thanks to you, my self-contained students now have a set of their own microscopes! As a 6-12th grade school, our students all share materials, and don't always take the best care of them. Now we have a set, just for us!
My students loved receiving the many boxes and sorting thru them, seeing all the new materials for our classroom. It was like a mini-Christmas in room 218!
Your donation has impacted my classroom more than you know. It provided my students with the materials they need to succeed.”

Funded May 26, 2017Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donations! Thanks to you, my students were able to start the school year ready and prepared. Something as simple as having a pencil truly impact my students day. My students come from low-income families, and it is common for them not to have school supplies, which causes them frustration and leads to a bad day. When they know they can walk into my class, grab a notebook and a pencil, they feel prepared and ready for the day.

Funded Jan 1, 2017Thank you so much for the generous donation to our classroom. My students have been able to use the materials you so graciously funded in our creation of models, research for Powerpoint projects, and they are actually going to our little Science Library for fun reading! Your generosity mostly impacts my self-contained class of eight students wit h varied levels of learning disabilities. The books are on different reading levels so they all have access to the content, while reading on their level. You will be receiving a package of thank you notes from them, they did work hard on them and they hope you like them.”

Special Education Needs
Funded Dec 20, 2016Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation to my school project on Donors Choose. Your donation has greatly benefited both the students, and the teachers here at school.
As a 6th grade-12th grade school, we are home to both general education and special education students. With over six hundred students in our building, over one hundred and fifty are students with special needs. With each special education student comes individual meetings. Your donation has given us the technology to be able to hold these meetings with new laptops, benefiting the teacher and the student.
Your donation has greatly effected the special education department in our school.”

Biomes and Endangered Species Project
Funded Apr 22, 2016I cannot thank you enough for donating and supporting my 6th grade special education Science Classroom. I teach in the South Bronx, at one of the top schools in New York City, but everyday materials are scarce and usually come out of my pocket. Your generous donations have provided my students with the materials that they need to succeed.
A few of the supplies that your donation provided are such simple things as crayons, Expo markers, and construction paper, all materials that are used weekly in my classroom for students to create models and projects.
Thank you so much for all that you have given to my class.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Jannazzo

A few of the supplies that your donation provided are such simple things as a laminator, which I have been able to create and preserve so many materials! Highlighters, markers, and pencils which we use everyday, to the point that they are almost dry and gone. Science flipcharts and games that make learning easier and more fun for my special education students.

Funded Sep 16, 2016I cannot thank you enough for donating and supporting my 6th grade special education Science Classroom. I teach in the South Bronx, at one of the top schools in New York City, but everyday materials are scarce and usually come out of my pocket. Your generous donations have provided my students with the materials that they need to succeed.
A few of the supplies that your donation provided are such simple things as pencils and a sharpener, which have actually run out because they are constantly losing their supplies and bring none in from home. My favorites are the plant and animal cell models, which have been extremely beneficial when teaching about the cell, especially with special education students who need models to help them learn.
Thank you so much for all that you have given to my class.”
