My students are just starting to cherish their love of reading. We need to continue to engage them with popular novels that make them feel as if they are watching the best movie ever! Many of my students have adult responsibilities once they leave school and are seldom given the chance to enjoy something of their own. A high-interest novel, one that they can call their own, will bring pride to each student as they continue to read over the summer. We are a Title 1 school, and my scholars come from low-income families where many do not have the financial stability to purchase a novel. Our goal is to be the premier middle school in North Carolina. This first novel, given to students, will help them start their own home libraries and support us towards becoming the best middle school in NC!
