Everyone struggles to read when they don't know a word's meaning, so to make reading more accessible, we need to make the vocabulary more accessible with tools that students (and all of us, really!) will actually *use*. When was the last time you pulled out a paper dictionary to look up a word? I'm guessing it's been a while! Our schools are still using paper dictionaries, which quite simply isn't the way we do things any more! While cell phones are the preferred method of looking up words, they aren't allowed in schools. However, electronic dictionaries ARE! Help me help my students navigate our new digital world and improve their literacy!
