  • Rebuilding Technology after Hurricane Irma

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much this extraordinary donation. My project was near non funding in a few days and because of your generosity, my students will have an additional interactive learning center and I will be able to have mobile control and teach students within that center from another center. I can't imagine the possibilities and flexibility this will have on teaching and students learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Giving Learning New Sound

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much this extraordinary donation. My project was near non funding in a few days and because of your generosity, my students will all have their own pair of headphones while in our technology center.

So many times I have students with no headphones or they break them before the first quarter. Having a full set of headphones for each student will reduce the amount of germs as they love to put them in their mouths and ensure each student can participate within all of centers and interactive games.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Building Corners after Hurricane Irma

    Funded Dec 20, 2017

Your donations to our project has allowed my students an opportunity to take literacy beyond their desk. This literacy corner provides a flexible seating arrangement within my groups; allowing my students to be excited about having a personal space to read and/or engage with their tablets. They love having the opportunity to rub the carpet and lay out on the bean bags while reading.

The moment they walked into the room they all noticed their new space and all wanted to jump in. Having this space has definitely increase student engagement in my room and the willingness to read and learn.

The success of this corner has been so great, I just might have to add another one next year to accommodate the large amount of students and groups.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Organized Sports after Hurricane Irma

    Funded Dec 13, 2017

I can't express how much fun myself and the other Kindergarten teacher had yesterday engaging in a game of kickball with our students. Even though her class won, it was the most fun we had outside in a while. The students will need a lot of practice on how the game works but we will get there.

There was plenty of seating and activities to choose from with the jump ropes, footballs, hula hoops and soccer balls we received. I'm looking forward to a real game of soccer now that our goals have arrived. The students are really getting an opportunity to practice their hand-eye coordination as well as many more physical development skills. This was not obtainable before without the use of equipment and/or a playground.

Even the teachers are getting off the sidelines and participating in the organized sport activities. Recess will never be the same again. Thank you so much!”

  • Creating an Individualized Classroom with Centers in a Unorthodox Setting.

    Funded Oct 23, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom. My students loved using the tablets. They were so excited to see the package arrive. Thanks to our new edition, my 23 students are no longer waiting all day to get on 2 out of 4 working computers. I can now have 7 students working on increasing their literacy skills at one time. I can also create smaller groups during our rotation time because I was able to create an additional center.

The best thing about having the tablets is my students having the flexibility to move, learn, and grow anywhere within the room. The students love getting away from their table and desk to go into the literacy center to find a personal place to complete their interactive lessons.

The technology that my students access through the use of these tablets allow them all to be working on their individual reading level simultaneously.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

I have a class of up to 30 Kindergartens with no assistant teacher. In the past, I was able to conduct small groups. I have 4 moderately working computers. However, now with increasing class size and limited resources, I am unable to work with students one-on-one while ensuring everyone else is working on engaging activities that they can do independently. Research shows the importance of conducting small group instruction to close achievement gaps. Currently, I can’t run rotations with the amount of students. Having an additional mobile technology center with the tablets and a library center full of picture books and sight word practice will allow me to have 4 running centers.
