  • Makerspace Excitement

    Funded Aug 19, 2023

The items within our project have allowed for creative play within the library. Students have been able to create using the magnetic blocks. They have begun to code and will eventually use the robot to build a path to run the robot using code. The bin has been great for different Lego areas within the library.

The students and I are grateful for your contributions toward our expanding stem center within the library. Thank you again for your generous donation for our hands-on learning and stem lab within the library.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bradley

  • Writing and Wobbling

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. My students have been using the stools and seating pads to help with the wiggles, along with being able to sit around the room with ease. Students also have been using the clipboards for projects while using the flexible seating. The items that were donated for the project, have benefited the students working environment. We also have been using the magnets for tracking our moods on the mood meter.

The students were excited to see more and different flexible seating. The additional flexible seating has allowed all students in the class the ability to sit on something besides the provided classroom chairs, if they wish to do so.

The next steps for the students is to continue to work on our writing, while using the book purchased in the project. As a class we are also working on using the flexible seating to our advantage. Thanks again for the generous donation to our classroom.”

  • Expanding Our Flexible Seating!

    Funded Aug 20, 2019

Thank you for your generous gift to allow us to have more flexible seating areas in the classroom. My students get to come into the classroom each day an pick where they want to sit and what they want to sit on. The added flexible seating options have given the students freedom of movement and a choice of seat for the day. Some of my students like to move and the stadium seats have allowed them to be on the ground but also be able to move around to different parts of the classroom in comfort. The stools give the students a chance to sit a little higher than a regular chair and the rug allows students to lay down without being on the cold tile floor.

The students were elated when they saw the new items from the project. They all went for the black stools and stadium seats. The students have done a great job of sharing and taking turns with the seating.

Our next step in flexible seating will be lowering desks to be able to sit on the floor and still work at a desk. Gaining more stools and different areas around the room to sit. Flexible seating is a work in progress and we appreciate the generosity of your donation towards our classroom. Thank you again!”

    Ms. Bradley

  • Learning in Comfort!

    Funded Dec 4, 2017

First let me start of with a great big THANK YOU! We are enjoying our new carpet space in the classroom. Students have been able to slip away into a book in comfort, work on their computers on the floor, and it has given us a group area for certain projects.

The carpet came while I was out sick, but they were excited when I got back to unroll the carpet and see the new flexible seating area. It brings warmth and brightness to the classroom. Students are always asking to work on the carpet throughout the day.

Future projects in my classroom, will be continuing to build on our flexible seating areas, such as exercise balls, more stools, carpet squares, lowered tables, and so on. We are also working on gaining more science/STEM materials for exciting projects in the classroom. Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom. My whole class appreciates you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bradley

  • Wiggle and Wobble to Success!

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

Thank you very much for donating to our project. My students have enjoyed being able to work on our wobble stools anywhere around the room and not just sitting in a chair at a desk. My students take their work and are able to complete the assignment without being asked, many times to sit back down and continue working. Students are willing to complete their work, in a timely manner, when they sit on the stools and use the bouncy bands. I am excited to see how the stools and bouncy bands work over time with my students and their comprehension of material.

I received the package during my plan period one day and began opening the box while the students were out of the classroom. When the students returned their first reaction was to grab a stool and check it out. They immediately put their chairs away and sat on the stools for the remainder of the day. They were so excited to get to wiggle while working and reading.

When I started this project, I wanted to get the students moving, while also working. The stools have been a great addition to our classroom. The next step in our movement throughout the classroom will be looking into other methods of flexible seating around the room, such as rugs, lower tables, and many different seating options. Thank you again for donating to our project and helping out my wonderful students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bradley

We will use our Wobble Chairs during small group and as incentives in our class for superb behavior. Wobble Chairs will allow my students to move and learn at the same time. When time calls for more stationary sitting, my students will not be limited by a hard plastic chair. The Wobble Chairs will help my 5th graders balance and help release their critical thinking skills through being able to move. We are also in need of 2 bouncy bands to allow another type of movement in the classroom while working. The bands will keep our busy feet busy without bothering others around us. The stools will be a creative way to increase our creative juices in our brains. The Wobble Chairs will allow my students to look like they are working in a stationary position but underneath we will be moving. The Wobble Chairs will help us improve our productivity in our classroom and will also increase positive classroom behavior. We will no longer need to take as many breaks to get our wiggles out.
