Funded Aug 10, 2022Thank you so much for helping fund this project. My students will be so excited to have so many new chapter books to choose from in our class library. Funded Jul 12, 2021With your donation I was able to give each of my students a pencil pouch to keep their own supplies in for their desks. They enjoy having their own supplies and a place to keep them. They also keep their whiteboard erasers that I was able to get with your donation in their pencil pouches. We use these daily during math class to practice skills on whiteboard slates.
I use the pocket charts on my Reading bulletin board to display vocabulary words and high-frequency words that my students need to know for our the reading story we are working on in class. We use the whiteboard easel daily to practice math facts.
Again, thank you very much for your generous donation to my classroom.”

Funded May 7, 2021My students were very excited the first time they saw one of the games during our Math group time. Each group works on a different activity during this time, and my group played the addition math game to practice and reinforce addition facts.
So far, they have played the addition, subtraction, and place value games. They will get to play the money and shapes games once we work on those skills in class. My students love when their group gets to play one of the games.
They are also enjoying the Reading games which help them learn and practice using context clues, reading and comprehending literature, and reading and comprehending informational text. These games are such a fun way to reinforce the skills we are learning!”

Funded Nov 15, 2020I am teaching an eLearning class which means my students are learning from home through live conferences. The laptop stand and the iPad stand have been extremely helpful. The laptop stand allows me be on conference with my students while I'm working out a math problem on the whiteboard. The iPad stand allows me to show my students things using the camera on my iPad while I'm on conference. I can work out a problem using base ten blocks, show them pictures, or model writing under my iPad.
My students have really enjoyed the Scholastic magazines. I have sent the physical copies home to my students monthly, and then use the digital resources that go along with the magazines. The Scholastic magazines have been a great way to incorporate Science and Social Studies topics into our learning.”

Calmer Classroom and More to Read
Funded Aug 21, 2019My students really enjoy having new Diary of a Wimpy Kid books in our classroom library. This is one of their favorite series, and they love reading them. These books are hardly ever on our book shelf because they are always at one of the student's seats.
They also really enjoy having new, interesting biographies to read. Many of the students enjoy reading these as well. Adding these biographies to our book shelf will allow my students to have more options to choose from when we do a biography book report and project.
Having the light filters has been really nice. I started by just putting up two, and then adding more. The light filters really cut down on the harsh fluorescent lighting, and make the room cozier and more inviting.”

Funded Oct 25, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. My students love to read, and to love to read books that they enjoy. My students have different opportunities to read throughout the day. We have a daily time in our schedule set aside for silent reading, so everyone gets a chance to read. Students can also read when they are finished with assignments and love reading on the carpet in the classroom that is in front of the book shelf.
My students, especially my boys, really enjoy the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and love that we now have some of those books in our classroom library. All of the books were taken off the shelf immediately to be read. All of my students also really enjoy the I Survived series and I frequently see my students choosing those books to read. We did a Living Museum project recently and the students were able to use the biography books from the I Was series to help them in finding out about their person.
We also love the stools. I put them around our group table, so we now have enough seats for students to sit around the table with me during our Math or Reading group time. They also love to sit at these at their tables. Once again, thank you so much for your donation. My students and I really appreciate it, and are enjoying our new books and stools!”
