  • Urban Archery Team Needs New Targets for Success!

    Funded Nov 3, 2019

I can not tell you how much your help means to my students. As you can see they absolutely love the new targets! They have so much fun shooting them! Students tell me they miss days when there is no school because they miss Archery so much. Students look forward to archery each day. Not a day goes by in which a student doesn't express how much they enjoy archery and how it helps them de-stress or escape for a little while from the cares and concerns that consume their lives. For a little while in their day Archery brings fun, success, joy, and allows them to relax while improving all sorts of skills: socially, emotionally and physically.

We continue to practice and compete in regional and state level tournaments in which my students meet other competitors from other communities that have far different lives than theirs united by the one joy of archery!

My students feel better about themselves, and are improving in their archery skills as well. As you can see by their arrow groupings on the targets. Thank you so much for helping me help so many students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Palace

  • Urban Archery Team Aims for Success

    Funded Dec 9, 2018

Thank you so much for the new archery equipment. New bows allow more archers to participate. New arrow spinners allow us to check our arrows so they are the best that we have when we go to competitions. new bow cases allow us to protect our bows when we travel to archery competitions. New targets allow us to practice with quality targets as we prepare for local and state competitions. We worked so hard at improving our archery skills that we qualified for the top tier in the Oklahoma NASP State Tournament and finished near the top! We were able to prove that our students raised in the city can compete with top level rural archery students and rank near the top with them who have far more opportunities to practice their archery skills than those of us raised in the big city! Thank you so much for your support in providing the necessary equipment to help our team improve. We couldn't do it with out you! Thank you for helping me change the lives of my students "one arrow at a time" by helping them learn confidence, goal setting, character development and skill improvement in a sport where everyone can find success through hard work.”

  • Urban Archers Need Targets

    Funded Oct 29, 2018

Thank you so much for providing our team with additional equipment. We have new targets to practice our competitive archery skills with and fun ZOMBIE targets to encourage the students to learn to pinpoint their aim to focus their shots. Students are able to improve their skills and are motivated by fun de stressing targets. Shooting ZOMBIES is just fun! It adds a level of "crazy fun" hidden in the sport. It allows a break from the intense concentration needed to focus as required by Bullseye competition. Shooting at fun targets also helps the students distress from the other pressure of everyday life and allows them to escape for a while in an fun way while also improving their archery skills. This helps students become more confident in their skills and strengthens their resolve as they have to go back into their hectic, stress filled lives in which they live. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to escape for a little while.”

  • Urban Archers On Target For Success

    Funded Dec 30, 2017

I cannot thank you enough for your support. This Archery Program means so much to my students who are often left out of traditional sports programs. Through archery these often marginalized students are able to be a part of a team and find success because unlike other sports, Archery is for EVERYONE as it is not dependent on body shape or size or how fast you can run or how high you can jump. Your donations helps me reach more students through additional targets and other equipment. Without your support our school could not offer the Archery program to these students. My students are learning more than just archery as they also learn self confidence, goal setting, leadership, and other life skills. Additionally they are able to find athletic success and improve in a skill that is fun and exciting as one they can continue throughout their lives. Again, thank you so very much!”

  • Urban Archers Need More Equipment to Grow

    Funded Sep 21, 2017

Thank you to all of you who donated to BTW Archery. A mere "thank you" is not sufficient to express the gratitude for what you have contributed, you have given not money, not equipment, nor resources, but a LIFE-SOURCE to the BTW Archery Team. You have given us fuel to discover our passion, experience the sportsmanship, life shills, and values our coach tries to instill in us as young people. I have tried many other sports, and have not really fit in, but Archery has filled an empty space inside of me that traditional sports has left vacant. No other sport comes close to offering the camaraderie, values, work-ethic, and life skill learning that the Archery program does. Thank you so much for the gift of additional equipment.

We were all excited to receive our new targets, bows and arrows. Our old targets were all shot out. We knew we hit the center when the arrow would pass through. If we heard a thank, we knew we had missed and needed to work on fundamentals more to improve our form. The Go- Pro camera is very helpful in analyzing our form as we can see in great detail the little things that our coach was saying we needed to correct to improve our form or shot sequence. We can now see that even minuscule adjustments can make a huge difference in Archery. Archery requires precision and determination to constantly improve as we seek perfection to improve our selves as individuals and as archers. The Go- Pro really helps in this.

The 3D Boar is a great addition to our shooting equipment as well as we can shoot a fun target learn about the Boar and why they are such a dangerous and nuisance species that needs to be controlled because it causes so much harm to land, the wildlife, and the entire ecosystem. Shooting a pest is fun, even if it is a foam representation- so hopefully someday I can shoot a real boar and help the environment.

Every year we are gaining more students who want to be a part of our growing archery program that sometimes we had to wait until our turn to use the equipment. The addition of additional bows helps give every one involved more opportunities to shoot and improve their aim.

We are working everyday and using the new archery equipment to better ourselves and those around us, by practicing perseverance, exercising determination, and building integrity as we strive for excellence in all that we do. Thank you so very much for helping us.”

  • Targets for Low Income Urban Students

    Funded Mar 29, 2016

The Donation of the NASP targets has been a gift from the angels. As you can see from the photos, the old targets we have were completely shot out, such that one could put their entire arm through the center. I cannot express the joy and excitement my students had when the boxes arrived. As you can see in the photos the students are excited about using our new NASP tournament targets. My students have begun practicing daily and their archery skills improve daily. With the new quality targets we have, the students will have many months of regular practice where they can concentrate on their archery form, focus on the mental skills necessary to become precision target archers and experiencing the daily benefits of archery including increased self-esteem, relaxation, sense of being a team member, and other leadership skills I teach as part of the NASP program. An increasing number of students want to become involved with the archery program at our school as they see the positive changes in their classmates and the quality of equipment we have. Again, thank you so much for your support. . I hope to inspire the desire for continued excellence for all worthwhile endeavors in my students with the knowledge that with patience and hard work, their aspirations can indeed come as true as they learn to hit the center of the bullseye on the target. Through archery we are changing the lives of our students for the better. Thank you so very much.”

As the boxes arrived, the students could not believe the generosity. As you can see in the photos the students are excited about using our new Archery equipment.
