My students are wonderful! I have fifteen girls and ten boys. They are seven years old and they come from a diverse background. My students come from eight different countries. We learn from one another. Today I saw two girls from Yemen, teaching my spanish speaker students a game from their country. It was amazing! Our school is our second home. Being a title one school, resources are limited and a vast majority of our students qualify for free lunch. In our school we validate our differences and learning styles. Our students need so much more than others because of their socioeconomic status and their challenging living environment. However, our school and our teachers make the best of what we have and at times we have to purchase the things we need to make sure that our children are meeting and exceeding the standards.
