The whole world is turning to technology and my school is no exception! Every one of our students enter our school with their own gmail account, Google drive, documents, Google slides and access to Google Classroom. Teachers are required to put assignments and announcements in Google Classroom daily so students and parents can stay in the loop. Our grade book and student information system is state of the art. Our students and parents have a portal that allows them to see grades, assignments, emails, and even take tests online. Our new Math series has a phenomenal online aspect that targets individual student needs. On top of that, our District has made the decision to go to an online format for our state testing this year. It all sounds so 21st Century and highly innovative ...until you enter our classrooms to find a few old desktops that students have to take turns using! Now, everyone knows that students are highly motivated to learn with the use of technology and we use it as much as possible. I use online programs in my classroom frequently that the students can access with their smartphones, but we are limited to the programs we can use with just phones and limited by the amount of students who actually have smartphones. I am on a quest to acquire a classroom set of chrome books this year. My goal is to have computer access at my student's fingertips every day. Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated!
