Science Exploration
Funded Jul 8, 2022This has been a very interesting Donors Choose Project. My students had an exact science exploration center in our school's pre-k. I did not realize how much the children would enjoy this center the second time around.
This exploration science center has tapped into their prior knowledge from what they learned from last year. It has enhanced the children's discussion skills and vocabulary. This center also helps spark new ideas on how we can use the center within the different subject areas, like writing.
I want to thank you again for your donations. They really do have an impact on our youngest learners.”

Independent Reading Books!
Funded Jun 21, 2022I want to say, this project, Independent Reading Books has had the most impact of all my projects. The children love reading time and now they are truley independent readers.
The new books have allowed me to start teaching beginning reading strategies. Our new leveled library is keeping the children engaged during independent reading. My students are able to now go back and practice their newly learned reading skills.
Reading time is now our favorite time of the day. This has been so successful, I plan on posting this project again to expand our classroom library.
Thank you for your donations. You are most appreciated.”

Funded Mar 31, 2022There is nothing better than sharing the experience of opening up a box of new supplies and materials infront of my students. The children get so excited and immediatly start planning their creations.
This box of arts and crafts materials was fantstic. Our class was able to make the most beautiful birds following our all about birds writing unit. The children love making little cards and pictures for their friends and family members at home. They remind me of things they saw as we unpacked the box, and make suggestions of activities or projects we could do in class.
As a teacher, I love how all of these experiences help the children not only during craft making, but how it helps their critical thinking , planning , and colaborations skills. This is what makes all your donations so meaningful. They help in more ways than you know.
On behalf of my students and myself, we thank you for your genorisity and kindness.”

This makes me feel more secure that the room is clean and sanitized.

Funded Jun 10, 2021As a kindergarten teacher, the first few weeks are filled with excitement, anticipation, and worries. This year I was able to set up my classroom with the children's emotional needs in mind more than ever before. I wanted the children to experience an organized and beautiful classroom. I also wanted them to continue to create beauty too, we used the paint easel, brushes, and paints to paint fall scenes to hang up around the mini school's hallways. The children were so proud of their work.
The children had to guess what was in the large, heavy boxes. Needless to say, they did not guess a paint easel. The real surprise came when I finally got someone to put it together. They were thrilled. That is what's so exciting about getting new items and materials for my class.
I want to just say, thank you to everyone who has made this project and the children's new experiences possible.”

Funded Jan 8, 2020This project, a listening center has had a wonderful impact on my students. This "old school" technology helps keep my students engaged while reading/listening to a story in a room full of children.
This product is new to some of my students, they are so used to listening to music and books on a phone, the CD player is intriguing for them. This curiosity keeps them engaged and provides extra support to enhance a child's listening skills.
The children who seem to love this the best are my ELL population and children who are not read to at home. This listening center provides extra language support as the children hear many of the same stories over and over again. They always request that I open up the center to use during reading workshop and even during playtime.
Thank you once again for funding my project.”

Hands-On Learning in Math
Funded Dec 4, 2019I would like to thank each and every one of you for your generous donations towards my Hands-on Learning in Math. These center items and games arrived in three different boxes. It was nice to see how excited the children were when we opened the boxes. This was a first experience for many of them.
Immediately they wanted to use the animal sorting centers. Each side of their tables, picked a different animal bin.. Some children went right to sorting, others actually acting out math number stories. Other children set up battles between the different animal species. It was fun to watch these young learners make up their own games.
I look forward to using the other center games in our future math units.”
