Math Teacher Team Supplies
Funded Aug 24, 2021Thank you so much for your contributions. The students are loving the new resources that their teachers received. All math teachers at SOA received a package. They were thrilled! Each teacher has durable sheet protectors which are a life saver in this time when we need to wipe down everything after. They also got expo markers for the students to write on their individual white boards with. They also loved using them with the sheet protectors when we played some bump games in class.
The grade levels that are working on positive and negative numbers received colored counters to provide manipulative and visual aids. Games and flash cards are a perfect student resource for students that need reinforcement or enrichment. You can never have enough copy paper as a teacher, so that was a win!
Giving the teachers a basket with all of their goodies was such a joy. This year has been another tough one with all that is going on. Doing anything to help get teachers and students inspired and excited to learn is a gift. I fully appreciate all you have helped us do.”
With gratitude,
Ms. P.
Flexible Seating
Funded May 19, 2020Thank you so much for your gifts! The children were esctatic about the new resources. This really saved us in a year of social distancing. Students were able to use the stools to move about the room and continue learning while distanced from peers. I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to use them this year, but they really made such a difference. It allowed for a change of scenery that let two kids move to the small group table at a time. It was the ideal spot for our games and activities.
Lap desks were invaluable. Students were comfortably spread across the floor to continue their learning. This year used Chromebooks daily. The desks allowed them to move to spread out and find a comfortable place to work on their assignments. They were thrilled to be able to use them and move about the room to take notes or complete work.
I would love to continue working on adding more flexible seating. I found old wheely chairs for desks, wobble stools, and mini rocking chairs. Now, I am looking at yard sales for a comfy futon or small armchairs. Then, students will have the ultimate choice and be able to complete stations whereever they prefer.”
