Paper for Delaware's Special Needs
Funded Mar 27, 2018We really appreciate your donations! You wouldn't believe how much paper you use daily in a school without textbooks. Special education students do not always have the same access to computers and technology that the students in the general education classroom have. This requires us to rely heavily on paper and worksheets that the teacher has created. This also does not count the amount of special education paperwork that we print out and provide our parents with! Thank you so much for supporting our students!”

Funded Aug 15, 2017Thank you so incredibly much for the donations of the books to our classroom!!!! It meant so much to my students to have access to colored books in our classroom. We are a textbook free school, and without classroom books the only books that students had to read were ones that were checked out of the library. Your generous donation of the classroom set of books has allowed me to be able to provide my students with reading materials in the classroom that were at their reading level and educational. I cannot thank you enough!
My students have been so excited to read each and everyone of the books that you have donated, one of my students even asked if this was a Christmas present for them to have at school. My students are very grateful for your kindness and consideration. Thank you again so much for your donation!!!!!”

Busy Hands, Busy Minds
Funded Aug 12, 2017Thank you so much for your donation. My students use their fidgets, hand manipulatives to help keep their hands moving while sitting in their chairs. This fulfills their sensory needs for movement and motion while still allowing them to work. The stress balls and hand grips allow students to squeeze and release some of their stress/anxiety in a positive way which reduces anger and frustration in the classroom. When we notice students are struggling or having a hard time, we may offer students one to help them self-calm or students who are more self-aware will ask for one themselves. These have become great tools in the classroom.
My students have enjoyed using all of the tools that were purchased for them. They really appreciate all of the tools that you have purchased and the potential help that it offers them in the classroom. Thank you so much for your generous donation.”

Funded Aug 1, 2017I would like to personally thank you for your donations to our classroom. The pencil sharpener has been amazing and has allowed me to reduce the amount of time we need to have students out of the classroom trying to sharpen pencils or get a writing utensil that will work. We have used several of the other back to school supplies to create fun learning activities like word clips, calming bottles, counting buttons, and all kinds of cool activities. I have used the card stock to create flash cards and the rings to store them on for the students to practice their sight words. Students have also used their dry erase boards in the classroom frequently, we use these in math for fact fluency and in reading groups for sight word practice, and spelling practice. Your donations have greatly improved the quality of our classroom environment. My students and I cannot thank you enough!”

Resource Room Fun
Funded May 5, 2016I want to thank you so much for your incredible donations and generosity to my students. Every little bit helps and the children were beyond excited to open their "presents" from you and to use them. The easel is used daily for the students to work out assignments and to teach material to the students. The blocks and balls are fun activities that we use during our resource time helping to learn how to socialize, work, and interact with each other properly. The kids love these activities and gives them something fun and interactive to do, this also gives them the opportunity to get up and have some extra activity in their day.
Thank you so much! We are beyond grateful!”

Assisstive Technology for Resource Classes
Funded Aug 25, 2016My students love their new wobble stools! We actually are looking into ordering more because I do not have enough for everyone and it seems to be a hot item in the classroom! The students also have very much enjoyed their listening center. When students have free time or need to read books that are above the their reading level, they listen to an audio book and follow along in their adjoining reading books. This helps students who are below their reading level to hear and follow along with the print concepts. This also frees up time for me to work one-on-one with certain students and hold more small groups. The wobble students help calm down students who are having anxiety or trouble focusing. The stools allow them to move while still getting their work completed. I can not begin to thank you enough! My students love all of the new "toys" that you all have helped to make possible for them!”

Ms. Bray
