All of our students are unique, but they have a common story in which a traditional education setting was not successful for them. Our students need the constant engagement, challenge, and motivation in order to best function. We know that a real music program, if offered at our alternative public high school, would encourage our students to interact in a freer and more creative environment. This would allow them to tap into another type of intelligence often ignored in education. They love to rhyme, rap, and dance to express their thoughts, which is why having a functional music program would teach them how to positively channel their preferred type of expression and simultaneously teach them a marketable skill.
