Flexible seating allows my students to engage in learning in spaces that are comfortable and conducive to their learning. During various parts of the day including independent work, partner time, and small group instruction, I allow my students to work in different areas of the classroom. Many of my students enjoy working on the carpet but complain that their back hurts or get uncomfortable sitting up. I have found that flexible seating encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning which makes them active participants in their education. These comfy floor seats will allow my students to more fully utilize the carpet and other floor areas in the classroom without impinging on their comfort. They will also help create an inviting classroom environment.
