Materials to Support Remote and in School Reading Intervention

Funded Dec 10, 2020

Thank you again for your contributions. These magnetic letters and boards have been invaluable during this time. With the addition of cookie sheets (that hold the letters,) the letters have been able to be used at home to build words. This helps students build early reading skills in a multi-sensory way. Right now we are working on words with short a, so our letter a is getting used a lot.

The students love using the letters and it is their favorite part of their at home lessons with me. Every lesson, we start by playing "echo." This is a game where I say the sound, they repeat it and then they hold up the letter that makes the sound. They are starting to be able to build words with them too. In school, I use the phonemic awareness activities from the kit. Students love completing these activities.

In the future, stay turned for additional projects. I will continue to work with our students to build their early reading and language skills. Thanks for your support during these unprecedented times.

Sincerely,

Mr. Klee
