  • Simply Supplies

    Funded Jul 18, 2019

I apologize for writing my impact letter so late. Please know how much I appreciated your donation of school supplies. The crayons and glue sticks were used by my students almost daily for projects and station activities. The chalk markers are AMAZING and I use those often for my word wall, schedule and other pertinent information for my students to read. So many teachers have commented on the beautiful writing with those markers. The tape has been used for displays and has secured many posters. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! My students and I are extremely grateful that you've helped our class become successful!”

  • Comfort on the Carpet

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

When I found out about your generous donation to our classroom, I was thrilled! The students' reactions were priceless when they first saw the big, beautiful, plushy carpet. One student, in particular, actually rolled himself on the carpet.

We use the carpet everyday for morning meeting, small group instruction, and center time. The students are always asking to come to the carpet to simply just do their individual work. It's really comfortable and cozy so it's no wonder why they consistently want to be there. Teachers have often asked "Where did you get that nice carpet?"

My students and I are sincerely grateful and appreciative for your generosity in making our classroom environment a nice place! Thank you so much for the support! It has made a huge impact in making learning fun!”

  • Sharpened Pencils for Sharp Students!

    Funded Dec 8, 2018

Thank you very much for the AMAZING pencil sharpeners and pencils! You have truly made an impact in my classroom because I am never without a sharpened pencil! I can sharpen up to 100 pencils at one time without the sharpener overheating. This is a teacher's dream gift! We use them daily and now my students have what they need to be successful! I also do not have to stop teaching to take care of a pencil issue because I always have a stash of sharpened pencils. I am truly GRATEFUL for your donation!”

  • Learning With Literacy

    Funded Feb 14, 2019

I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am for your generous donation to my project Learning with Literacy. My first graders were so excited to play with the new reading activities and books. They are having so much fun while learning! They are also learning to get along and take turns. As a teacher, it's so nice to see my students engaged in learning! Thank you so much for helping me bring the love of learning into the classroom. I have seen big improvements in my students' test scores. Recently, one of my students wrote about how much they like school because of the fun games they play. That was truly the highlight of my day!”

  • Books and Bins

    Funded Dec 21, 2018

My first graders absolutely love reading the Dr. Seuss books. They are having so much fun reading them and sharing them with one another. The leveled reading books are essential for differentiation. The students are all reading at different levels and now they have books that are " just right" for them. I am so grateful to receive these books and bins to organize them. Thank you very much for your donation! My students are improving their reading skills while increasing their motivation to read!”

  • Jamming Journalists

    Funded Dec 14, 2017

Thank you very much for your GENEROUS donation to my project "Jamming Journalists". It has made a huge difference in how my students view writing. When they had fun materials to use, it got them more excited about writing. We used the journals daily and the kids liked having a space for writing and a space for their pictures. I saw students writing more and more each day. We used the whiteboard-clipboards often as students moved around the room. They really liked using them and improved their writing skills.”

  • Sharing Responses with Boogie Boards

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your GENEROUS donation to my "Sharing Responses with Boogie Boards". My students absolutely love to use the writing tablet "boogie boards". After we used them the first time, I heard so many students asking "When are we going to use them again?" It has helped in so many ways: engagement in listening, enjoyment in learning, saving on paper, and a great tool for me as a teacher to see how my students were performing. We used the tablets in all subject areas especially in math when they could record their answers to story problems. When my students are having fun with learning, it brings a lot of joy to me as a teacher. A BIG thank you to Ripple and Verizon for sponsoring my project.”

  • Happiness with Headphones

    Funded Apr 15, 2017

Thank you very much for your generous donation to my project "Happiness with Headphones". Indeed, the headphones brought happiness to both students and teachers. My class was thrilled to be able to hear their chrome books and could focus better on their assignments. There was less distraction in the classroom which also allowed me to work with a small group of students on reading, math, or writing. Having those headphones helped with learning in all areas of the curriculum especially with reading and math. I will always be grateful to Maria Byers and the anonymous donor for their generosity and kindness. You've made my job as a teacher easier! Your thoughtfulness was much appreciated! Your act of kindness went a long way and reached 30 first graders.”

    With gratitude,

The individual headphones will make it easier for students to hear what is being said when we are on our computers. If children do not have headphones, it is very loud and distracting for children to hear and focus. Even though we ask for headphones, we rarely get students bringing them to school. It would so beneficial for each student to have their own headphones. This would eliminate frustration for our students not being able to hear. The headphones of choice have a lifetime warranty so I can make sure that everyone will be able to have a working pair of headphones for the year.
