Colorful - Engaging - Decodable Books! Books! Books!
Funded Oct 11, 2023Thank you all again so much for donating to my project. We have definitely been enjoying our new, colorful, decodable books in the classroom. The decodable readers have been allowing us to focus specifically on each phonics pattern when working with individuals or groups of students in need of that skill or pattern. Students are excited to have the new variety of books to practice with instead of just the printed paper books we had before. Students love having more choice!
During our reading workshop students have their own book baggies filled with a variety of books differentiated to their needs. This now includes our rich, colorful decodable books. The new decodable books have increased student engagement during independent practice time. My co-teacher and I also pull small groups of students for strategy and guided reading lessons during this time. The boxed set with multiple copies for practicing each skill helps us with these reading groups as students are able to have their own copy of the book we are working on.
The books you allowed us to purchase are increasing the impact of our reading instruction every single day. Engagement is up and reading growth is up! I am so grateful to each and every one of you for making this possible.”

Funded May 22, 2022Thank you all again so much for donating to my project. We have been loving using our colorful ink and utilizing purchases from teachers pay teachers in the classroom including decodable books and games to support fact fluency and math strategies. On a regular basis we are able to print out colorful books, games, charts, and tools to support student learning. As our classroom had been lacking decodable books to help students use phonics strategies to learn how to read short and long vowel pattern words, we are now able to print out our own copies that support a variety of skills that can be differentiated to each learner.
The students are most excited about having the colorful books to read and fun games to play that support and enhance their learning. Providing them with these materials gives them the support they need to be more independent. They continue to love using charts like "ways to sound like a reading star" or "the retelling rope" when they work with partners in reading workshop.
In general, the ink and gift card allow me to print books, games, daily lessons, various student activities, checklists, trackers, etc to provide rigorous instruction that meets individual student needs.
The ink and gift card allow me to purchase and print materials for more engaging lesson plans and resources to support daily instruction for all students. I am so grateful to each and every one of you for making this possible.”

Learning in Color! Classroom Printer Needed!
Funded Nov 20, 2021Thank you all again so much for donating to my project. We have been loving our color printer in the classroom. The positive impact it has had in our classroom is tremendous. We are now able to print out colorful charts and tools to support student learning. We have made charts to hang up and for shared table use as well as individual charts for students to use as needed. For example, we have been able to create and print phonics charts with letters and key sound pictures to help students with reading and writing.
The students are most excited about having their own charts and resources to use when they need them. They like to take charge of their own work. Providing them with these materials gives them the support they need to be more independent. They also really love using charts like "ways to sound like a reading star" or "the retelling rope" when they work with partners.
In general, the printer allows me to print daily lessons, work, checklists, trackers, etc to provide rigorous instruction that meets individual student needs. I no longer need to worry about a copy of something not being made when our school copy machine is broken because I can print and copy on our classroom printer. When a parent asks for additional resources to use at home I can print them out and send them immediately.
The color printer truly allows me to create and print more engaging lesson plans and resources to support daily instruction for all students. I am so grateful to each and every one of you for making this possible.”

The Extra Boost of Technology!
Funded Nov 8, 2019Thank you all again so much for donating to my project. We have been loving our new chrome books in the classroom. The positive impact they have had in our classroom is tremendous. Students now use the chrome books to read and listen to books online that are on their individual reading level. As our classroom book library is limited, students have access to so many more fiction and non fiction books through programs accessible on the Chromebook. Students also use the chrome books for additional math practice that adjusts to their strengths and needs. The students have access to interactive math and literacy games. We have also been able to use the chrome books for students to do independent research on topics they are interested in.
The students are most excited about taking turns reading on the chrome books. We rotate daily as part of our reading schedule. As of January, our PTA funded a program called Raz-Kids. This is one of the online reading programs that allows the students to read and listen to books at their level. Raz-Kids also has a comprehension component where students answer questions about what they read. Raz-Kids also allows students to login and read books at home. Now students read on the chrome books in school and then continue their practice at home. Their excitement using the programs in school is what motivates their use of the programs at home. Without the chrome books we would not be able to utilize these programs.
The chrome books have been particularly helpful for students who need a little more motivation in reading. They enjoy the interactiveness and vivid pictures online. Our students who are English as a new language learners and students with disabilities benefit greatly in having books read to them and in being able to click on words and see what they mean. In general, all students are benefitting from the fact that all programs we are using are tailored to student strengths and needs.
The chrome books have helped engage students more in their own learning. I am so grateful to each and every one of you for making this possible.”
