  • Entering the 21st Century Through The Web

    My student were estactic when I told them the news. We just started persuasion unit in writing and this is when I chose to tell them. They were impressed that even as adults we have to persuade people. Persuasion is an art form that even as adults we use to change minds, opinions, and outlooks of other people. This gift is going to take my class to the next level. It will give the ENL students more time to learn English through various programs which our school uses.   • Paper and Notebook Replenishment

    This is so great to know that I can print pictures or create a worksheet and not have worry if I have paper to print it! The notebooks came in so handy I needed to replace 6 notebooks just the week that your tge notebooks arrived. The kids are so happy when I say to them go get one in the closet without a second thought. They feel so relieved that they can continue to work and not loose their notes waiting on a notebook to be purchased. Thank you so much for making my life a little easier for awhile. These notebooks will carry over to next Sept giving my future class the same opportunities of not worrying about replenishing a notebook.”

  • Forces and Motion

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

    This project gave my students the opportunity to explore forces through magnetic fields, slopes, gears, friction etc. Having the opportunity to explore after reading text gave my students a better understanding of how things can move fast and slow, how to repel an object, the speed is affected by friction and how friction can slow motion. THe building of the roller coaster allowed them to change incline planes and show how higher inclines can cause an object to travel faster and lower inclines slow motion down. The exploration box of what is magnetic and what is not gave them the opportunity to explore why things are magnetic and draw conclusions that not metal objects are not attracted to magnets. They so much enjoyed to have this opportunity. Thank you for helping their understanding build to a much deeper level.”

These materials will give my class the opportunity to test out the effect of force on motion. This topic will improve there understanding because they will have the opportunity to work with force with a hands-on lesson. It will also assist in breaking the language barrier as they will be able to use there own knowledge to explain how it worked. My class having an opportunity to express themselves without language through actions will alleviate the pressure of reading the complex text. The use of the magnets for exploration will improve understanding of the topic of Force and motion as will the Motion Discovery Tubes. It will also aide in developing the English language which is a barrier in our school.

About my class
