Scholastics Magazines to Read
Funded Dec 24, 2020Thank you for your generous gift to the project “Scholastics Magazines to Read.” We are thrilled to have your support. Through your donation my class will be able to access digital reading materials and continue working towards building their reading comprehension skills remotely.
All of the donations will truly make the difference for us, and we are extremely grateful! Each donation is going toward developing my students being literate. Again, thank you.”

This classroom project was brought to life by FamilyAlbum and 9 other donors.Safe Bookcases
Funded Sep 18, 2017The bookcases are being used everyday. They serve a practical purpose to support learning in all subject areas. The students can book shop for reading, peruse mentor text for writing and complete research in science and social studies. The students are engaged in using the classroom library.
My students were excited when they saw the new library area. First, the lighter color of the bookcases changed the look of the classroom. They created a light airy feeling. Second, the library became appealing. Third and most importantly, they were able to use the library unencumbered. The bookcases were now safe.
Since the students can actually use the bookcases in the library area to borrow books to read, our next plan is to get more books for the library. My students would like a variety of books that are more appealing. We are currently trying to get books through various means. However, they are still satisfied with the library area because they can use it. They are grateful to the donors and I am too.
Thank you!”

Ms. B.
Learning Environment
Funded Jul 25, 2016Dear Donors,
The students were ecstatic when they saw the new rug, listening center and the kidney table. The carpet and the calming colors are the focal point of the room. The students during independent reading now enjoy going to the rug and laying on it to read. Since, I looped with my class my students know what my room looked like before and have a clear comparison. They appreciate the environment now.
I meet with my small groups on the rug or at the kidney table. The have participated in guided reading lessons on identifying the point of view in a literary text. The students enjoy having an environment that fosters the idea that I am important as a learner.
The listening center has so far benefited my struggling students. They get the opportunity to listen to fluent reading on a regular basis. My next step is to build my audio books library, as well as acquiring different types of seating so my students can splay across the room and enjoy a good book.
Once again, thank you for your donation.”
With gratitude,
Ms. B.
