The physical education facilities at our school are the best in our district. With almost 900 students enrolled in Physical Education, and four different classes every period, sharing facilities can sometimes be a challenge. We do the basic team sports such as football, softball, basketball and soccer, which all teach good sportsmanship and team building, but students would love to do something different and fun, while still learning these characteristics. Introducing outdoor/beach activities like croquet or a cornhole game to our Physical Education Program will emphasize interest in physical activity to students and for many who may not like the original team sport activity standards for Physical Education. It would be nice to have these activities available at our school so students can have more choices. It also will be used as an end of the year field day activity and also for days where temperatures are too hot for intense physical activity.
