  • Listen and Learn... Quietly

    Funded Feb 14, 2024

I cannot emphasize enough the benefits of technology in our classroom. Thanks to a new product, we can now implement our students' knowledge. This has sharpened their critical thinking skills and increased collaboration among students. The students have also improved their communication with each other in the classroom.

Moreover, students have access to personalized learning opportunities with their new headphones. This has significantly impacted their learning, as it has enhanced their comprehension skills. Additionally, students now have the freedom to explore complex subjects and ideas, which has expanded their knowledge and understanding.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. LoPiccolo

  • Learning Tomorrow’s Skills Today through Technology

    Funded Oct 1, 2018

Wow!! There are not enough words to express my joy, gratitude, and thanks for all your generous donations to my class project. My students and I are so very appreciative of your support for education and creative, hands-on techniques for learning. We are looking forward to receiving our chrome books. They will be a great tool as we continue to grow and learn in the classroom.I will able to incorporate research skills into my students’ lessons to better enhance their learning. It will make complex concepts more accessible and enjoyable. It will facilitate independence and allow my students, a mix of primary English and Spanish speakers from various backgrounds, to learn about new, exciting subjects in a fun, easy way. These resources will help the to improve their reading skills and develop a lifelong love of reading. It will also keep them current with technology, which is imperative in a technology driven world. The world is at our finger tips now. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. LoPiccolo

  • Technology + Curiosity= Explorers

    Funded Mar 21, 2016

My students and I would like to thank everyone for their generous contribution to our computer fund. Technology is so important to educating our students allowing teachers to extend the world into our classrooms. Beyond just the possibilities that technology allows us to access, the students were really excited to have a cool new computer in the class room.

As we all are aware, technology is such an important part of our learning and the more our students our exposed to it, the greater their learning experiences. Unfortunately, not enough of our students have access to technology at home, making this donation even more important. Having this computer in the room has allowed our learning experiences to be more interactive and fun for the entire class. The students have an opportunity to explore the world from their very own classroom such as something as simple as performing a goggle search for animals found in Africa to virtual tours of cities and countries around the world.

I can go on and on about the things the students and I have been afforded to do as a result of this computer, so thank you again for this generous gift. We are all extremely grateful.

Thanks again for your help in making our classroom a great learning environment.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. LoPiccolo

My school is a large Title I school with a diverse student population, serving high numbers of economically disadvantaged children. We educate over 1200 kids from pre-k to 5th grade. Resources are limited, particularly with technology, as most classrooms do not have their own computer resources. I teach second graders English in a dual language program (Spanish-English), designed to teach kids fluency in both languages. My students are curious by nature. They explore, question, and wonder, and by doing so, learn. They are drawn to new things and they want to explore them. And while exploring, they are discovering. This inspires my students to become creative and independent learners.
