• Happy Birthday, Little Ones!

  Thank you for helping me make my students feel special on their birthdays (or half-birthdays for summer birthdays). Everyone loves to be recognized on their birthdays. Providing us with birthday pencils, crowns, cards and stickers will help make our birthday student feel extra special. Each student also got the paperback "Happy Birthday, Bad Kitty" by Nick Bruel as a special birthday surprise. Students have loved receiving their birthday surprises and goodies. We are so, very grateful for your generous donation that has allowed me to put on smile on my students' faces on their special day!”

• Healthy and Ready to Learn!

  One of the most important things to me is to keep my third graders healthy and safe. In order to do so, it is important that all students have access to face masks that are the appropriate size. Additionally, having access to additional disinfecting wipes has allowed me to keep all surfaces clean throughout the day. At this time of the school year, all parent donations have dwindled down but we must continue to keep our classroom clean. Disinfecting door knobs, light switches, tabletops, countertops and all other high traffic areas is of utmost importance to flatten the curve of any transmission of COVID19 within our classroom.”

• Keep Your Eyes on the Prize!

  My students work hard on a daily basis. In our class, students earn points for working hard, staying on task, helping others and being ready to learn. With those points, students can purchase items from our classroom treasure box. My third graders love working hard to earn those points. They are always eager to apply the points that they have earned to purchase a prize from the classroom treasure box. These prizes not only keep my third graders motivated but, they also reward them for their hard work and effort.”

• PBIS for the Win!

  Funded May 6, 2022

  Thank you for your generous donations towards our project! The addition of PBIS prizes has allowed students to work towards goals in our classroom. According to research, PBIS leads to better student behavior. PBIS can lead to more effective teaching as behavior issues may be minimized.

  The addition of these prizes has allowed students to work towards tangible goals.

  Students have been able to earn points throughout the week and purchase the item that they have earned based on behavior and good choices. This has drastically changed the current environment in my classroom and has given the students an opportunity to set and meet goals.”

• All We Need is STEM!

  The STEM material kits have helped to inspire tomorrow's scientists, leaders, artists, designers, and engineers. My students thrive during our STEM/STEAM time. It is something that they look forward to. The addition of these two kits have allowed my students to have all the materials they need to complete two different projects. The robotic STEM kit AND the water rocket STEM kit are highly interactive experiments and hands-on STEM activities that have furthered my students' love of science. Additionally, these STEM kits inspired critical thinking skills and instilled a passion for innovation.”

• Financial Literacy for Kids

  This spending and saving financial literacy kit has helped ensure that my students are educated on the best way to manage finances. This is a way of securing their future. This financial literacy kit has allowed me to teach my students how to manage money in all ways possible.

  With the use of the kit and the included lesson plans, children learned about saving and spending and had fun in the process.

  Financial literacy is a life long lesson that will benefit students for the rest of their lives. This kit has allowed me to provide my students with the tools they need to become financially literate.”

• For the Love of Learning

  First and foremost, thank you for your donations towards our project, "For the Love of Learning" ($100 Gift Card for Educational Resources on Teachers Pay Teachers). With the resources purchased with the gift card, I was able to successfully add much needed materials to my center rotations. With is project, I was able to add the necessary differentiated resources to successfully run my center rotations.

  My students were eager to begin using the new resources. These resources included both digital and paper-based materials that benefited my small group instruction. The addition of these resources have made a tremendous, positive change in my small group instruction.”

• Teaching Responsibility Through Class Pets

  Months back we added two hermit crabs to our classroom family. After a few weeks of taking care of the class pets and studying hermit crab needs, the students and I learned that in order to provide the hermit crabs with the best environment we must monitor the humidity in their environment. The addition of the humidity sensor, hermit crab food, and sand has allowed the opportunity for students to continue to learn about hermit crabs and their environment. Additionally, students have been able to continue to practice responsibility as they work together to care for our class pets.”

• Reading Gives Us a Place to Go

  Thank you for the class set of the fiction book Flora and Ulysses by Kate Dicamillo. This donation has allowed me to have various lessons that will allowed students to close read the novel. Students have been able to have their own personal book to annotate and analyze. The addition of the larger hardcover book has been essential in assisting students during the annotation lessons.

  Reading is a very important aspect of our classroom. Students look forward to reading as a group and independently. We love to read a variety of genres, especially fiction like Kate Dicamillo's books.

• STEAMing Our Way Through Third Grade

  My third graders and I are so grateful for your donations towards this project. The addition of these items into our classroom has allowed students to have their own materials (as shared materials are a thing of the past now). Students have been able to use the scissors, glue and card stock during the art portion of our STEAM projects (all thanks to you). The addition of the Teachers Pay Teachers gift certificate allowed me to purchase project plans to incorporate into our STEAM lessons and projects.
