Shake, Move, Dance
Funded Sep 29, 2022I want to express my deep gratitude for your donation to my Shake, Move, Dance project. The materials are being put to good use every day at school! My Students are eager to engage in dance with the addition of these new materials.
We are using the mat to warm up with front and back rolls. We are using the stepping buckets to increase our balance and coordination. We are using the ribbons, egg shakers, rhythm sticks, and bells to improve our imitation of movements and engagement in movement activities.
You have enhanced the learning in my dance classes through your generous donation to my classroom. My dance students will continue to use these materials to grow through music and movement throughout the years. Many thanks!”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Classroom Supporter.Behold, the Key is Technology!
Funded Nov 22, 2019I can't thank you enough for your generous contribution to my project. Getting this laptop has already and will continue to enhance my students academic achievement. My students are using it to learning basic typing skills and identify where the letters are on a key board. They are using it to read books on their individual reading levels. They are using it to engage in math games aligned to our curriculum. They are using the laptop to research about given topics, such as the parts of plants and how plants grow. Students are now eager to go into our new technology center and use the laptop as a tool to further their understanding of topics, improve their typing skills, improve their reading skills, and improve their math skills.”

Fed, Cleaned, and Organized Equals Ready to Learn!
Funded May 31, 2018My students are going to be using the chair back buddy pocket charts to organize their classroom materials. These chair back buddy pockets will increase my students independence by providing them the opportunity to take out their and put away their own materials. Students will be able to pack up their homework at the end of the day independently. My students will use the snack foods to fill them up at the end of the school day. Some students may not have food to eat once they leave school and these non-perishable items will help tie them over. Some of my students come in with dirty mismatched socks or no socks at all. These socks and undergarments will help boost their self-confidence by allowing them to come to school clean.”

Funded Jun 10, 2017My students were so thrilled to receive the materials you donated to our classroom! At the end of the day students are rewarded for positive behavior with the opportunity to work with magnet tiles. My students worked together to build structures from the magnet tiles. Students played Zingo, working on turn taking skills and following directions. Students practiced reading the words on the tiles with the assistance of the pictures. Students are enjoying the sensory activity of kenetic sand. Students are searching through the sand for little plastic sea creatures and shells. My students who have difficulty writing are using the letter stamps to write words! We are so excited and grateful to have these new materials in our classroom!”

Student Life Essentials
Funded Mar 17, 2017Students are using these resources to prepare themselves for a day of learning ahead. Students were so thrilled to receive these life essentials. Students talked about how they were going to use these items. Students were able to make the connection between what they have been learning about dental hygiene and the toothbrushes. Students shared why they need toothbrushes.
Students were so excited to first see materials. Students said "thank you" for the backpacks, lunchboxes, toothbrushes, and shirts. Students shared what things they keep in their backpack and lunch box. We are working on sequencing events in a story. Students will also have the opportunity to sequence what they do in the morning to get reading for school using life essentials!”

Engaging Books Needed!
Funded Jun 15, 2016These texts have really enhanced our library. I just started at a new school in September. It is a district 75 school, which is all special education. My 2-3 grade class includes a range of disabilities and academic levels. There are students with autism, down syndrome, and in wheelchairs. The classroom was completely free of books when I arrived, so having your donation was so helpful!
Students are permitted to choose a preferred book off the shelf during reading time. Students have been eager to read the new books in the library. Students will look at the books together and talk about the pictures. When I read the books to my students, I ask students simple questions. Students are encouraged to think about "who" the story is about and "what" the story is mostly about.
I have to say all of my 8 students are enjoying the books you have added to our class library. These books are sure to help build their reading ability and comprehension. We are forever grateful!”
