CHARGE Them Up!!!
Funded Aug 23, 2016Dear Donors,
We would like to thank you for your generous donations that provided two charging station in our classroom. We us our devices almost daily for just about everything: research, creating presentations, doing worksheets, making maps, turning in daily work and much more. Having the charging stations in the room allows us to keep working while we are charging.
What we like most about the new charging stations is that they are setup in two locations which allows us to be scattered if needed or because they have multiple cords several of us can work in a group and charge as needed. Some of us are even able to leave them charging in the room overnight because the ones that were provided to us at home have broken or been lost.
The students appreciate the available charge in the classroom and were so excited the day they arrived. Many of them have already figured out that they are available as needed and just get up and move to the charging stations when a charge is needed. It has made the flow of class much simpler because we do not have students leaving class to take their devises to the office to leave on charge. They can now just charge in the room and keep working!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Reed
Ready, Set, Vote
Funded Mar 20, 2016Dear Donors,
My students and I would like to take the time to say thank you for our election materials. We have spent time studying candidates for the primary election and were able to have a CGMS Primary Election on May 9th.
The students have enjoyed this hard to understand topic that can be so complicated at times. They have researched which political party they affiliate with and then researched the candidates of that party in order to vote in the primary election at school. I allowed them to debate the issues and the position of their candidates.
According to the students they have found themselves involved in political conversation and debates with family members and friends. They are paying close attention to the election and the candidates. Thank you for making available resources that would not have otherwise been provided to my students!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Reed
This classroom project was brought to life by #BestSchoolDay and one other donor.Give the Students a Seat!
Funded Mar 29, 2016Dear Donors,
My students and I love the new desks that you provided us with. They are large flat top desk that enable them to have plenty of space for iPads, laptops, books, and paper out to enhance their learning through many different resources at the same time. They can also be made into tables for easy group work projects.
My students were thrilled when they saw the new desk. I have attached a few pictures of them opening them boxes and you can see the excitement in their faces.
We are finishing out the school year now and just began working on final projects in which they will be working in small groups to research an assigned topic and create a lesson that they will teach to the class. The new desk will provide them with adequate space to work and research together!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Reed
