Taking the Next Step: We Need the Tech!
Funded May 4, 2021Being back in the building this year has allowed for things to return to a relatively "normal" school day, and that has been great for our students! Because of this, they have been using our new technology that your donations purchased. The interactive flat panel is basically a giant computer screen, so students have been able to use it for so many activities.
Every week, they have used it for learning activities, to help them find a book in our Student Center, and to interact and use for their club activities. You can see the light in their eyes when they get a chance to take a turn using this technology. It really has put the world at their fingertips.
At first, you could tell that they thought it was for the teachers, but now, they know, this is 100% for them! I love watching them come in each day and get started on searching for things, playing math games on there, and exploring various science activities. Last week, 8th grade language arts classes used the interactive flat panel to promote new books to their students. They loved getting to use it to find new books! This week, students will be using it to model some math topics they have been learning, and we can't wait!
Thank you. It doesn't seem like strong enough words, but we mean it. Thank you. Thank you for inspiring students during a really difficult time in the world. Thank you for helping to make learning more engaging for them. Thank you for giving them something to look forward to. Thank you for making this world better by giving students a chance to experience it and learn more. Your donation to provide us with this technology truly has made a difference.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Nall
This classroom project was brought to life by SONIC Drive-In and 20 other donors.Help Us Be Heard! We Need a Classroom Amplification System!
Funded Apr 12, 2016Your generous gifts helped purchase a microphone system for my classroom. This system has a student microphone and a teacher microphone that are used daily. The system allows the sound of the person speaking to be heard across the entire room much more clearly than normal speaking without amplification.
What has been even better than the students being able to hear is the confidence they feel when they use the microphone. I frequently have students come to the front of the room to share something that they are working on. They become our "experts" and eagerly volunteer to share using the microphone, which has caused participation to increase significantly. I also have seen them grow in excitement in their math studies. They feel as if they are doing something very important when they use the microphone system.
This technology has made a huge impact on the learning in my classroom and on the lives of the students. I am so grateful for your generosity and willingness to help support our project.”
With gratitude,
