Boogie Board Jot Memo Pads Make Everything Easier!
Funded Aug 18, 2017My students were so excited to receive your generous donation of the jot memo boards.Their smiling faces and excited bodies made me extremely happy to share with them how received the boards. They wanted to say thank you very much!
Too many times while using dry erase boards the markers dry up in the middle of a lesson. For this reason I decided that I would want these boards to replace the dry erase boards and markers. My students have used these boards during our math guided practice. We were learning about place value of 2 digit numbers. The children were listening to my instructions for what digit they should write. They wrote the digit and then showed a model that represented this digit. The students were very eager to use the boards because it was a new tool for them, this product really helped to keep all of them on task .
I plan to get lots of use out of these boards during mathematics and during phonics and whatever else it lends itself to. Again, I thank you for your gracious donation.”

Technology to Enhance Reading Skills!
Funded Feb 12, 2017My students are a group of learners who learn in various different ways. In my class the students benefit from the use of technology because technology is an interactive tool that allows them to express themselves in a way that they feel most comfortable. My students not only use an interactive whiteboard during mini-lessons but they also are able to follow up with lessons taught through various academic programs that include, reading, mathematics as well as games that promote learning.
My students were extremely excited to receive the tablets because our computers at school are sometimes very slow and they weren't able to access the reading websites such as Epic and reading A-Z. Some of my students are emergent readers and benefit from the websites that include the "read to me" option.
The thing that is most exciting about the new product is the fact that it is a product that is very much familiar to them they are able to navigate the tablet with ease and b=very little assistance. This helps them to have a sense of independence.
My students and myself are most grateful for the generous donation and promise to put the product to good use.”

Supplies to Enhance Student Learning
Funded Jun 8, 2016Dear Donors Choose:
We want to kindly thank everyone at Donors Choose for their generosity. My students and I were ecstatic to receive the supplies. I waited for the students to arrive to school before I unpacked everything because I wanted them to be a part of the actual unpacking. My students were in awe of the fact that people could be so generous. In their own words "wow, that was so nice, now we can make the best bulletin boards."
The first thing that we used the materials for was laminating all of the sight word cards and the literacy center games. Last year the sight words and games were constantly tearing due to the normal wear and tear of the students handling them daily. I was able to laminate everything to preserve the life of these items. I used the color printer to print more games that we needed for our centers as well as for the morning meeting routine. My students wrote their thank you cards on the beautifully colored paper that was supplied to us.
I will use the copy paper weekly for notices home to parents as well as for all types of extension activities that the students need to work on. Sometimes the children need paper to draw on during free draw and this paper will be used for that purpose. We plan on creating beautiful bulletin boards with the amazing paper that we received. It is always special to showcase the students work because they feel very proud to show what they have done. Because we have this great paper, printer and laminator our bulletin boards will look spectacular. We would love to share pictures with you all when we start creating them.”
