Guided Math Organization!
Funded Oct 30, 2019These materials were great for keeping our math stations organized. The students especially enjoyed the large photo keepers because that is where some of their favorite workstations fit into! They loved getting to choose which activity they wanted to do, and the clear colored boxes made it easy and fun to decide.
The larger clear Really Useful Boxes were excellent at putting math workstations that had a lot of materials in. That way, all the small pieces wouldn't get lost as the students used them in their workstation.
They loved feeling independent enough to choose their own workstation to go to, and being this organized made it super easy!”

Funded Oct 11, 2019These items were perfect for getting my students organized this year! The at-your-seat storage sacks are the best thing to help each student keep their belongings near them and organized. The best part is the storage for putting their reading books. Whenever they finished their work early, they could just reach behind them and pull out their library book! No disturbing their neighbors or asking for permission to go and get a book. They had everything they needed nearby!
The binders were also perfect for keeping their daily work accessible and neat. All of their work was contained in one place that was easy for them to get to. The tabs of course made it easy for them to turn to the correct subject without having to flip through the whole binder first.
The students loved getting the new materials because it meant that they were being trusted to manage their own areas. This is an important life skill that they need to have, and they love feeling so independent!”

Supplies for Organizing!
Funded Dec 28, 2018This was such a great donation for my young learners! They have been able to be so organized in their learning. We use the binders at least three times a day with our various warm ups and daily problem solving that we do. The tabs help them to easily find the right subject and immediately get to work.
They were so excited when we first got the binders because it immediately helped them to get organized. They got to ditch the old folders they were using in place and put their binders together. They felt so organized and mature to have a binder like their teacher!
We use these materials everyday, and we are so thankful to wonderful donors who care about our class!”

Funded Nov 15, 2018Technology is so present in our world today. It is important for students to get to experience it in a classroom setting to help further their learning. There are a wide variety of resources on-line to help with many subjects that we learn about in our classroom. It is also a great way to differentiate with my students' learning. They are on a wide range of levels, and on-line resources can help each of them in their own way.
They love with this new computer that it can also be a tablet. They can take it as needed throughout the room during their workstations and work on activities at their own pace. They can even use the camera to take pictures of their work so that I can check it later and keep the accountable for what they are doing.
I have some students who need a little extra motivation to complete their work, and using the tablet part of the computer as an incentive works really well. It helps to reset their concentration by taking a small break, so after a few moments, they are ready to focus on their current assignment. All students have different learning needs, and having this technology available is perfect for a classroom with various learners.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Your donations to our class are incredibly appreciated. We needed these workstation activities and you provided! My students and I are so appreciative of people like you who care so much about students you have never met. You have made an impact in the lives of my students. When they first saw all the materials, their eyes lit up!! Their learning can be so much more hands on and fun for them because they get to use the fun Ten-Frame answer boards to help represent numbers and the magnetic tins to practice measurement. They love going to math workstations now because they know they have these new materials to learn with. Composing numbers can be a hard concept for six year Olds, but with the Build a Number Houses, they are getting it! Thank you so much for everything that was donated!”

Funded Feb 22, 2018Your generosity is inspiring! Thank you for giving my soccer players the necessary supplies to have a great season! They absolutely love having their own ball to practice with. Now that everyone gets a ball of their own, there is more time for them to get specific practice and not have to wait their turn. Soccer is more fun when you actually get touches on the ball! They feel more like a team now that everyone has the necessary equipment for our soccer practice. Now they can be the soccer stars they are striving to be!”

Supplies for After Harvey
Funded Dec 5, 2017Your donations to our class came at the perfect time. This has been an eventful school year so far, with all of the interesting weather the last few months. Trying to get the students focused and on track with what our normal school days should be like has been difficult. We needed these basic supplies and you provided! My students and I are so appreciative of people like you who care so much about students you have never met. You have made an impact in the lives of my students.
Their learning can be so much more hands on and fun for them because they get to use brightly colored card stock for projects, and paint to help represent numbers. Tomorrow we will celebrate our 100th day of school, and all of these supplies will come in handy for all of the activities I have planned for them! Thank you so much for everything.”

Funded Nov 20, 2017Our soccer players are so excited about getting their uniforms for to wear for our soccer games!
When they put them on and wore them for the first time, they felt like a true team. They are beyond excited. It makes me feel so happy to see them so amped up to play a soccer game. I don't know what we would have done to get our wonderful soccer uniforms without your generosity. Times are tough for our students usually, but after the hurricane, it got tougher for them and their families.
I thank you for giving the soccer players something to look forward to. They love how they look as a team in their uniforms: ready to take on their opponent!”

Getting Started
Funded Nov 9, 2017I was so happy to receive the storage sacks for our classroom. I placed one on each students' chair and they were so excited to organize their own journals and folders! They felt so special to be in charge of their own materials. We have limited room at our tables and in our class to store our materials, so the storage sacks are the perfect thing to help. My students are now organized and ready to go!
The sound phones and paint dabbers are wonderful for making my students more excited about going to work stations! They can hear themselves sound out words in books, and they have a fun way to add counters to ten frames. Thank you for your generous donation to my wonderful students!”

Funded Mar 9, 2016Dear Dwight Howard,
My students are loving their new resources! Every morning when they come in, they get right to work in their Sight Word activity journal while they eat breakfast. I allow them to move at their own pace in working with the sight words, and there is a strong reader at every table to help the others if I am with someone else. They love competing with one another on how far they've gotten in the book, and it makes them want to work harder to catch up with their peers. As far as the phonics lock sets, they love going to that workstation! There are different levels, so it is great for everyone. It has really helped my lower students learn their initial sounds, and my higher students have been able to start practicing different vowel patterns.
When my students first saw the materials, and found out who they came from, they were so excited! It was like Christmas for them! They wanted to stop what we were doing and immediately use the new resources. I must admit, I was very excited as well and even took some time out to explain to them how we were going to use the materials.
As the year is coming to a close, I am giving my students one last push to be strong readers by first grade. We have a lot of end of the year fun things to do, but we are still working on our reading routine every morning and going to workstations. I don't think they yet understand that there are only about two weeks left in school!”

Mrs. Grass
