  • Math is My Jam!

    Funded Oct 25, 2024

The games your generous donations provided are so impactful to my students. We all know that students learn best by using math tools and and any type of hands-on activities. "Playing" with math using games reinforces fact fluency and conceptual understanding without feeling like "work".

We appreciate the time you took to find out about us and of course the funds you provided. The games are being used now, (see photos) and in the future.

Many students begin their academic careers convinced they are not a math person. This feeling and self-identification may last their entire lives and impact their potential careers. These simple tools may put a dent into that thought process because of the repetition of use in a fun game. Thank you very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Elzoghby

  • Hands on Learning for Returning Remote Learners

    Funded Sep 13, 2021

Your generosity is overwhelming! We met our students today and we are even more excited to use the items you are helping to bring into our room. As our 5th graders get ready for middle school (yikes) your donations will help them become confident inquisitive explorers. You're helping shape the future!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Elzoghby

Students returning from remote learning need and want hands on, non-screen learning opportunities. One of our school's initiatives this year is "Project Play" where kids will be engaged in building understanding in: engineering, environmental justice, their impact on their community, in a fun and playful way. Students will be engaged in several different discourses about their projects and creations. Students will use these materials to build a deep and complex understanding of scientific topic as well as critical thinking and problem skills. These skills will empower students as they will make the transition to middle school next year.
