Children these day are exposed to and expected to know so much about technology. It has become a part of the culture of the new age. However, my students come from an area of extreme poverty and have little access to these items. Because my school is focused on providing uniform clothing, transportation assistance, free breakfast and lunch etc we have little room in the budget for updated technology especially with the younger students. But it is my belief that the younger they can become familiar the more likely they are to fit in with their peers in the world. As well my students spend lots of time on phones and watching television having tablets in our room with allow small groups of children a chance to learn in a way they find enjoyable rather that sitting listening to someone talk or using paper and pencil. Your donation will help change my students lives and allow them to become educated not only in the technology itself but also use that technology as a tool to expand their learning in ways I haven't even dreamt of yet.
