All of my students will be learning from home, and I will be teaching from home. I use a wonderful software program that allows me to easily integrate video, images, texts, audio, as well as switch screens as many times as I want, write on the screen, use manipulatives, a whiteboard, you name it, and it is all in that one software. These are all tools that are very necessary to make learning for English Language Learners (ELLs) easier...actually...learning for any child. However, the challenge is that the software, as you could imagine, uses lots of resources from your average teacher's computer. I have been using it for years because I used to teach ELLs online in China and was introduced to the software. Consequently, when the pandemic hit, I was better prepared than most. However, the school-provided equipment was not fast enough or had enough memory to run the software and was not compatible with my additional monitors, webcam, printers, etc., that I used to make the magic happen. Consequently, I resorted to my own personal equipment. This year, my students deserve better! My system is now 3 years old and getting dated, and they need the fastest processors and more memory to run the new updates to the software effectively. Please help me continue to make the magic happen so my students can learn and be prepared for the future! We all understand no one saw this coming! I appreciate your support!
