Soccer for Queens and Kings
Funded Sep 29, 2022First of all, thank you for your donations. You generosity created excitement and brought joy to the boys and girls soccer teams. The soccer balls, goal pugs, and nets made a huge difference in how our students felt about themselves. Upon being notified of the soccer materials arriving at the school, the teams could not wait to see them and a great energy was generated in the group chats we have for the team. Student-Athletes took some time out of the school day to look through the donated items and they could not believe all the great equipment that was donated. They immediately began to play with the soccer balls and nets. And they could not wait to use the soccer tennis nets later on during practice. These student-athletes have had the same soccer balls and equipment for the past 5 or so years, and to receive new soccer gear was an incredible thing for them. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift that you gave to our soccer teams.”

Funded Apr 29, 2016First of all, thank you so much for your generous donations. The 2016 Queens High School Complex soccer season was the school's most successful to date. With the equipment we were able to get due to your donations, the coaching staff was able to organize and implement better practice sessions and with a higher level of group moral. This past season the girl's soccer team made it to its first ever playoff run and the boy's team made it all the way to the quarterfinals where they lost by one goal in extra time. Though both teams were saddened by the way their season ended, they were grateful and proud because they were the first group to establish such high playoff goals.
The players were definitely excited upon seeing all the soccer equipment that your donations were able to give us. We had soccer balls, goalie gloves, and miniature practice goals. All of this equipment afforded the team a high level of enthusiasm and anxiousness for the season to begin. It also was the first time the girls got any new equipment for their season. They previously had to rely on hand-downs and on bringing their own soccer gear to practice. Your donations showed them that society also values what girls do in the athletic arena.
Though our 2016 PSAL season ended this past November, we are looking forward to April 2017 when we begin our Spring campaign and then August when we begin our our season training schedule. The girls and boys teams are excited to begin practices and the success of both teams this past season has generated interest from our school community to come see our soccer games and root us on.
The impact of your kind contributions cannot be understated.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Castellanos
