  • Flexible Seating

    Funded Sep 12, 2019

Thank you so much for making a donation for my classroom! My students were so excited to get the stools! In the dynamics of my classroom, there are many students who have difficulties sitting still and the stools have helped them to sit still and concentrate on their learning.

We are using the stools at the small group tables using group meetings for Reading and Math. After getting the stools, students have asked if they could use the stools at other areas in their classroom, especially at their seats. I have seen an improvement in my students capability to sit still during work time. The stools have also helped them to feel calm and work better at their table groups. When students are able to pick where they want to sit, many times they choose the stools.

Thank you again for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

  • Making Reading Meaningful

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

I want to take this time to express my deepest appreciation for your donation! My students were amazed to see the materials that your donation provided them with. They were so excited to get their hands on the materials!

When we began to use the materials, my school's Curriculum Coach came into my classroom to observe my students and their ability to go back in the text to find answers to various questions. She was amazed with the notebooks and how students were able to underline their answers in the text. At Reading time, my students are so eager to use their notebooks.

In future Reading Units I plan to add more texts to the notebooks as well as divide the sections by standards, so it will be easy for students to find the correct text. I want my students to be able to use their notebooks whenever we are reading texts. I want them to be able to have the texts in their hands instead of me reading it to them.

Thanks again for your donation! You will never know how much your donation has touched me as well as my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Collins

The student population at my school is made mostly of Limited English Speakers. All of the students are on free and reduced lunch. Within my classroom I have 5 native English speaking students and 22 Spanish speaking students. My students love coming to school to learn and they soak up knowledge.
