With the use of Chromebooks, my students will learn engage and develop into future mathematicians. Today, there are many web apps that ask students to experiment with mathematical concepts. These web apps can deeply engage students and force them to really think about and understand how the math works. Instead of reading about the pythagorean theorem and using a formula, they can actually experiment with changing those values and visually see the effects of those changes. They will learn how to the math works instead of memorizing how to use a formula. With the increasing number of learning management systems and applications that allow students, teachers, and parents work more collaboratively digitally, students will be more prepared for the required high school and college online courses. These systems provide opportunities for students to have more flexibility and creativity in the types of products they produce. Google Apps For Education provides a platform for online learning collaboration. They make revision of work much easier and more fun for both students and teachers. Students will give and receive feedback on their own work, and the work of their peers. They will learn how to respond to feedback in order to make their work even better and their learning more rich.
